I wish I lived in Cali! But I will be attending the University of Wyoming.
If you like outdoors like skiiing, hiking, etc… UW is great for that. But you don’t have to like outdoors to go there. Umm the city is pretty small, but it is the 3rd largest in the state, probably just not what you would be use to coming from a place like Cali. There are lots of sororities/fraternies and the party scence is big so they’re trying to cut down on it. People in WY are extremely friendly =]
And if the town is too small for you, then you Denver and Fort Collins (in Colorado) are barely two hours away. The price is great.
The school has about 14,000 students. And the winters might be too cold for you, seeing as you’re coming from Cali. Laramie has all 4 seasons though, winter is from about early or mid-November to early April. People get use to it though. Snow can be really pretty and fun =]
    Look into it.

Rule out the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, we are tiny by comparison to anything in California! Around 2300 students. City is also small by your standards, around 50,000.

However, if you like the great outdoors we are located at the foot of the beautiful Black Hills.

I can give you some info on the University of Colorado Denver! We have two campuses for the one institution: The Downtown Campus is in the heart of Denver and it’s absolutely beautiful and close to the incredible Denver social scene; Anschutz Medical Campus is in Aurora — it’s new, cutting edge and also beautiful. We do have student housing nearby, such as Campus Village (http://www.ucdenver.edu/life/services/housing/Pages/default.aspx) but do not have sororities and such. Denver has 300 days of sunshine a year. We do get snow (we’ve gotten a couple feet so far this season) but it never stays cold for long. Today is supposed to be in the 40s. We have skiing nearby as well as hundreds of miles of biking and walking paths, if you’re into that. We have 81 degree programs ranging from liberal arts, music and theater, sciences, medicine, etc. Feel free to e-mail me and I’ll pass along any questions to the right people. Our home page is at http://www.ucdenver.edu. Thanks! :) Cathy (university communications, social media specialist)
